Zoho Analytics

A small number of dashboards people open unprompted, built on metric definitions everyone has agreed in writing.

How do you blend data from different Zoho apps?

Zoho Analytics syncs from CRM, Books, Inventory, Desk and Projects, plus outside sources like PostgreSQL, MySQL, Snowflake or a scheduled CSV drop, and lets you join them into one model. The technical part is the easy half. The reason most dashboard projects fail is that two departments count revenue differently and nobody wrote down which definition wins.

So we settle definitions before building anything: what a qualified lead is, when revenue is recognised, whether churn counts logos or licences. Then we cap each dashboard at about six numbers, because a screen with forty tiles is a screen nobody reads. If a metric can’t be explained in one sentence to the person accountable for it, it doesn’t go on the page.

What’s included

What the Analytics build covers

01

Metric definitions

A short written glossary agreed by the people who argue about the numbers, including the awkward edge cases like part-refunds and mid-month upgrades.

02

Blended data model

CRM, Books, Inventory and Desk joined on real keys, with the reconciliation logic that makes sales and finance figures agree documented rather than hidden in a formula.

03

Dashboards per role

A board view, a sales view and an operations view — each with the six or so numbers that person can act on, not a shared page of everything.

04

External sources

Warehouse tables, spreadsheets and third-party platforms brought in on a schedule, so the picture isn’t limited to what happens to live inside Zoho.

05

Refresh and alerts

Sync schedules set to match how the metric is used, plus threshold alerts so a number crossing a line reaches someone instead of waiting to be noticed.

06

Self-serve training

Two sessions teaching your team to build their own charts on the model we’ve made, so the next question doesn’t need a consultant.

How the Analytics build runs

01

Ask what decision it serves

For each requested chart we ask what someone would do differently depending on the answer. The ones with no answer get dropped, which is usually a third of the list.

02

Write the definitions

A glossary signed off by sales, finance and operations. This meeting is where the real disagreements surface, and it’s cheaper here than in a board pack.

03

Build the model

Syncs configured, keys joined, reconciliations tested against a period you already have signed accounts for.

04

Ship one dashboard

We release the single most important view first and watch whether it gets opened, before building the other five.

05

Prune at 60 days

We check view logs and remove what nobody looks at. A dashboard set that only ever grows is one nobody trusts.

Zoho Analytics FAQ

A focused set of three to five dashboards on Zoho sources is typically $5k to $15k. Blending in external warehouses or building a nightly pipeline takes it to $30k, mostly in data engineering rather than chart building.

Agree the definition before drawing the chart — a number two departments compute differently is worse than no number at all.
