Zoho Creator Custom Apps
A custom app for the one workflow the standard Zoho apps can’t hold, built inside your existing permissions and data.
Scope a custom app ↗When should you build in Zoho Creator instead of configuring?
Zoho Creator is Zoho’s low-code platform — forms, workflows, reports and mobile screens scripted in Deluge, running inside the same account, users and permissions as the rest of your suite. Its real advantage isn’t speed of building; it’s that a Creator app can read and write CRM and Books records directly, without an integration to maintain.
We reach for it late on purpose. Most requests that arrive as “we need a custom app” are solved by a custom module, a blueprint or a workflow rule in an app you already pay for, and that version needs no maintenance. Creator earns its place when the process has a shape the standard apps genuinely don’t have — site inspections, grant approvals, plant maintenance rounds, a bespoke quoting calculator.
What a Creator build covers
Build-or-configure call
Before quoting, we check whether native CRM, Books or Desk configuration already does it. If it does, we say so and the project gets smaller.
Forms and data model
Fields, relationships and validation designed so the data stays queryable later, rather than a long flat form that’s easy to build and impossible to report on.
Deluge automation
Approvals, calculations, scheduled jobs and notifications written in Deluge, commented, and kept simple enough for your admin to read.
Mobile and offline
Screens that work on a phone for people doing the job outdoors, with offline capture where the signal genuinely can’t be relied on.
Suite integration
Reads and writes against CRM, Books and Inventory so the app extends your existing records instead of creating a second set of them.
Documentation and handover
A written map of forms, scripts and scheduled jobs, plus a session with your admin covering how to change a field without breaking a workflow.
How a Creator build runs
Challenge the request
We try to solve it with native configuration first. Roughly a third of the custom app enquiries we get end here, which is the cheapest possible outcome for you.
Model the process
One diagram of the real workflow including the exceptions, because the exceptions are where the build time actually goes.
Build in two-week slices
Working screens demoed fortnightly to the people who’ll use them, with scope traded rather than quietly added.
Pilot with one team
Live use by a single team or site for a fortnight, running alongside the current method, before it goes anywhere near everyone.
Document and hand over
Script comments, a change guide, and a named admin on your side who has made a live change with us watching.
Zoho Creator FAQ
Single-workflow apps generally land between $8k and $30k depending on how many exceptions the process has and whether it needs offline mobile use. We quote after the process model, since the diagram is what tells you the real size.
The tools we build with
Native Zoho first and custom code only where the suite genuinely stops, because every line we write is a line somebody has to own after handover.
