Zoho Inventory
One stock pool behind every sales channel, and a count on the screen that matches the count on the shelf.
Fix your stock counts ↗How do you stop stock counts drifting?
Most inventory problems aren’t software problems — they’re the gap between what the warehouse does and what the system was told to expect. Zoho Inventory tracks stock across warehouses, channels and purchase orders correctly, but only if the item master is clean, the units of measure are consistent, and every movement in the building has a matching transaction in the app.
So we start on the floor rather than in the configuration screens. If pickers currently work from a printed list and correct it in pen, that pen is where accuracy is being lost, and no amount of reorder-point tuning fixes it. We design the fulfilment flow around what the team will genuinely do on a busy Friday, then configure to match — not the other way round.
What the Inventory build covers
Item master cleanup
SKUs rationalised, units of measure made consistent, bundles and kits defined properly. Usually this removes a third of the items nobody has sold in two years.
Warehouse setup
Locations, bins and transfer rules configured to match how the space is physically laid out, so a pick path makes sense to someone walking it.
Channel connections
Marketplace and webstore orders flowing into one stock pool, so the same unit can’t be sold twice on two channels within the same hour.
Pick, pack and ship
Pick lists, packing slips, barcode scanning and carrier labels set up as one flow, with the number of screens between order and dispatch kept as low as possible.
Reorder and purchasing
Reorder points and lead times set from your actual sales history rather than a round number, feeding purchase orders and goods receipt against PO.
Counts and adjustments
A cycle-count routine with a proper adjustment trail, so discrepancies get investigated and coded rather than quietly overwritten.
How the Inventory build runs
Walk the warehouse
A day on site watching receiving, picking and dispatch. We’re looking for the workarounds — the pen corrections, the second spreadsheet, the box nobody scans.
Clean the item master
SKUs, units, costs and suppliers sorted out in a staging file before anything is loaded. This is the least interesting step and the one that determines the outcome.
Configure stock and fulfilment
Warehouses, bins, picking rules and channel connections built and tested against a week of real orders in a sandbox.
Count, load, go live
A full physical count on a quiet day becomes the opening stock position, and the system goes live from that number rather than a migrated guess.
Tune after four weeks
We review shrinkage, backorders and reorder triggers against the first month of real data and adjust the thresholds accordingly.
Zoho Inventory FAQ
A single-warehouse setup with two or three sales channels is typically $6k to $15k. Multiple warehouses, barcode scanning and custom channel integrations take it to $25k or so, with the item master cleanup being the most variable line.
The tools we build with
Accuracy comes from fewer steps in the warehouse, not more fields in the software — so we cut screens before we add configuration.
